All Ages - Beginners to Advanced
Our current students range from 3 years old to students in their 60's and 70's. We take great care to teach what you want to learn so music is rewarding for students of all ages and levels.
Private Lessons and Group Lessons
Different students require different teaching approaches. Some progress best with the peer interaction and class motivation of a group session. Other students prefer the focused concentration of an individual one on one lesson. Once a student is more advanced it will be necessary to take private lessons to master the advanced techniques of an instrument or voice with individual attention. Make sure your student has the option to select the learning style that is best suited for them.
Regular Concerts and Recitals
Recitals and concerts are held at least twice a year. These provide students with performance experience and build confidence. Our Faculty Recital gives students a chance to hear professional musicians perform live.
Preschool Music Program
This program builds a solid foundation for later success in private lessons -
Music and Me Is for children age 0-3 who are ready to join in with their Moms and make some new friends while singing, learning rhythm, and doing movement in a fun, friendly supportive environment. In this 45 minute class, children learn how to play and work with others to improve while having fun. This is a great prep class for Kinder Rhythm.
Kinder Rhythm
Is for kids age 4 and 5 who are ready start learning music in a group environment and are looking forward to private lessons. Kinder Rhythm's mission is simple: to improve early childhood music education and to provide students with the strong rhythmic foundation they need to learn, perform and enjoy music at a higher level for the rest of their lives. Throughout the year there are presentations for parents.
Intro to Music and Drama
Is a fun, age appropriate exploration of music and drama to help prepare students age 4 and 5 learn to work together, improve social skills, speak in front of a group and learn fundamentals of music. This class is a great preparation for Drama 1 and private music lessons.
Children's Choir
Our choir's gives children ages 4-6 (junior choir) and 7-11 (choir) the opportunity to learn vocal basics in a fun group environment. Students will do basic vocal warm-ups, learn how to sing together and learn a variety of popular, broadway and light classics. The choir follows a low pressure format and gives performances at our Winter and Spring recitals.
Ensembles
Rock Ensemble students work together in a small band format on classic rock material. Students wil learn how to play in a group, play parts and improvise solos while having fun. Jazz ensemble students will focus on blues and jazz material from Duke Ellington and beyond. String ensemble players will work on classical material from the great composers including Bach and Beethoven.
Drama students gain confidence, learn public speaking and new ways to express themselves through theater games, improvisation and performing plays. There is an in-class presentation in December and a Black Box production in June.
